Southwest
Orientation and Mobility
Program

The Southwest Orientation and Mobility Program is part of the Specialization in Visual Impairment Program within the Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies, College of Education at the University of Arizona.

All classes are taken at the graduate level in full-time, on-campus study at the University of Arizona's Tucson campus. Students pursuing a master's degree must complete 42 units of coursework.

Completion of this program qualifies students to take the Academy for the Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP) examination. Students who pass this examination earn the Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) designation.
