Conference Theme
Our conference celebrates the diversity of peoples and cultures in children’s and adolescent literature and literacy. The 2009 conference will have sessions related to our theme of Bridging Cultures~Crossing Borders with a focus on:- Real and imagined borders of life
- Borders as boundaries/fences and as bridges
- Creative collaborations across peoples and cultures
- Bridges between visual images and language
- Migration of ideas across borders/Cultural transformations and movement
- Explorations of cultural heritage and transnational connections
- Challenging our own borders and comfort zones
